EXPLORE
KAPANA.
Creative industry. Independent design. Pedestrian streets. Independent art, food and late evenings — presented in a dedicated district page using the same unified catalogue.
BROWSE THE DISTRICT ↘THE
TRAP.
Kapana translates as “The Trap”, a reference to its dense maze of winding, interconnecting streets.
For centuries this was Plovdiv's artisans' quarter. Goldsmiths, blacksmiths, leatherworkers and other craftspeople gave the streets their names. During the 2010s the district began a new chapter as a creative neighbourhood, further shaped by Plovdiv's European Capital of Culture programme in 2019.
Today the area is best explored without a strict plan: pause at a workshop, discover street art, meet local makers and enjoy its compact cafés and restaurants.
